Description: WestConn will present "Great Women of Danbury, A Musical Voyage" in the Student Center Theater on the university's Midtown campus. The local women portrayed will include Sybil Ludington, Ann Hyatt Huntington, Rose Wilder Lane, Dr. Ruth Haas, Dr. Ruth Harkness, Sophia Penfield, Maria Cinta-Lowe, Laura Nyro, Carole King, Tracy Chapman and Marian Anderson. The event will be free and the public is invited

Description: The theme of Lowell Women's Week 2008 is "Women in Charge: Strengthening Our Lives, Our Community, Our World." The week's events are free and open to the public, and include "Factory Girls Lament," a musical performance on March 1 on the songs written by striking women as early as 1834 to foster solidarity

Description: March is Women in Jazz month — so the Museum's Blue Room will be kicking it off with the traditional women's jam session, led by renowned local vocalist Millie Edwards — the "tiny woman with the big voice." Visit the Museum during the month to pay tribute to all of the great female performers who helped shape the jazz of today by hearing some of Kansas City's finest women on the local jazz scene today.

Description: The exhibition Freedom's Sisters is a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and Cincinnati Museum Center. The exhibit brings to life 20 African American women, from key 19th-century historical figures to contemporary leaders, who have fought for equality for all Americans.

Description: Chaired by Whitney Strauss, Stories from the Top is the premiere Women's History Month Program at The Women's Museum. This year's program focuses on women who are blazing trails in S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) focused corporations. The Museum is honored to present Shelley S. Stein, COO, Grant Thornton LLP; Lesley Harris, President, Travelocity Business and Nina G. Vaca, CEO, Pinnacle Technical Resources, Inc. as the key speakers for Stories from the Top 2008. Gloria Campos of Channel 8 News will be moderating the event. These extraordinary women will engage in conversation focusing on their respective personal and professional journeys with a Q and A from the audience to follow.
