Museum Day Terms and Conditions *

Venues that agree to participate will extend free general admission for up to two people when presented with a Museum Day Admission Card. The Admission Card will be included in the September 2008 issue of Smithsonian magazine and available for download via the Museum Day website. Both versions of the Museum Day Admission Card are valid for free general admission. Museums participating in Museum Day are doing so voluntarily, and Smithsonian magazine is not responsible for individual museum participation or individual museum content. Smithsonian Media will execute national media outreach to promote Museum Day, and venues permit Smithsonian to use their names for all outreach. In addition, participating venues agree to Promote Museum Day via PR efforts in their local market and/or promote Museum Day via their website. Venues agree to redeem all Museum Day Admission Cards presented and return them to Smithsonian magazine in a provided pre-paid Smithsonian envelope.

Smithsonian reserves the right to edit entries as well as determine final participation.

All museums and cultural institutions participating must be a 501 (c)(3) organization or have status as a government-operated museum.
