Museum Day is a one-day event where participating museums and cultural institutions across the country offer free admission to Smithsonian magazine readers and friends with a Museum Day Admission Card. Museum Day is an outstanding way to celebrate the country's cultural offerings, encourage the dissemination of knowledge and promote your venue nationwide.

• Qualified Leads: 5,000 Smithsonian magazine subscriber names in your market for a one-time promotional use.
• Online Promotion: Listing, images and hotlink on dedicated Museum Day website, which yielded 3 million impressions last year. |

• Strategic Brand Affiliation: Museum Day aligns your museum with Smithsonian magazine and is a great way to promote your institution to culture enthusiasts nationwide.
• Public Relations: Smithsonian magazine will be working with media outlets nationwide to generate promotion and coverage of Museum Day. |

• Provide free admission on September 27, 2008 to attendees plus one guest who present a Museum Day Admission Card (both the printed version available in the September issue of Smithsonian magazine and the downloadable version available on the Museum Day website) upon entry. |

• General admission only. Does not include entry to special exhibits or IMAX screenings. (Museums may opt to waive additional entry fees. Please indicate this within the Exhibit Description section of the registration page.)
• Admission Card is good for general admission for attendee plus one guest. |

• No rain checks.
• Participating museums that already have a free admission policy year-round are welcome to participate in the "spirit" of the day.
• Museums participating in Museum Day are doing so voluntarily and Smithsonian magazine is not responsible for individual museum participation or content. |

All museums and cultural institutions participating must be a 501(c)(3) organization
or have status as a government-operated museum.
